Assignment description :
The CIFÉE association organizes - with its partners in Germany and France - the exchange program 'Franco-German Ecological Volunteering' (VEFA). She accompanies young people from the moment they apply (support in finding the host structure, putting candidates in contact with tutors, etc.) and during their year of volunteering (contact by email, telephone, videoconference or meeting between a CIFÉE manager and the volunteer in their host structure). A moment of exchange are also the four Franco-German seminars for volunteers participating in the VEFA.
The goals are:
- Encourage the protection and preservation of nature and its biodiversity;
- Introduce the population to sustainable development behavior;
- Give an example for audiences benefiting from a useful commitment for society.
The volunteer's main task is to accompany student groups during forest work and the afternoon program (e.g. forest rallies, workshops, hikes and excursions). There are also numerous organizational tasks, such as selling Höllhof items, administrative work, light maintenance tasks and running errands.
Occasional activities:
- Training on the use of chainsaws at the Mattenhof forest training center;
- Use of the chainsaw during forest work;
- Realization of one's own ideas for the design of the forest school;
- Seasonal maintenance work on the Höllhof grounds.
Volunteers are invited to make proposals and supported to develop and carry out possible new projects.
Volunteers are housed and fed by the mission. The volunteer participates in 4 Franco-German seminars (duration: 25 days in total, including PSC1) organized by the OFAJ. The volunteer is accompanied by her tutor on site and by her tutor from the sending organization in France, CIFÉE.
