Part of the mission remains open to the initiative, creativity, desires and abilities of the volunteer, under the responsibility of the tutor. It is necessary to be able to communicate in German to apply (a basic level is sufficient). Application deadline: 28/01/2025.
Assignment description :
The main objective of the “ASF — France Committee” is to organize long-term civic services (12 months) for young German and French volunteers spread throughout France and Germany. His work promotes peace between peoples, a European conscience, but also the fight against racism and exclusion, the reduction of stereotypes, the support of volunteers with disabilities and citizen engagement. ASF is particularly interested in the impact of history in our current societies: in this sense, it organizes seminars around the themes of citizenship, history, memory as well as socio-political themes. ASF volunteers are involved in the following sectors: - working with people with disabilities - social work - organic farming - equal opportunities - helping the elderly - human rights - memorials and memory work.
Mission within the Grandhotel Cosmospolis in Augsburg, which welcomes asylum seekers, artists and tourists and offers artistic and socio-cultural projects, workshops and eco-responsible practices.
This place of art and hospitality promotes living together by mixing people from very different social backgrounds (art lovers, tourists, refugees and locals) and makes it possible to connect the population, to promote the encounter of others, in a spirit of integration and mutual aid.
After a first orientation phase that will allow the volunteer to understand how the GrandHotel works, to meet the various actors and to discover the various tasks to be carried out for the proper functioning of the hotel; the young person will be asked to participate in the reception of asylum seekers who contact the structure to be oriented and advised on the steps they take and to support them in their administrative procedures if necessary, under the responsibility of an employee. Later, the volunteer can, according to their interests and with the support of the team, set up artistic projects/workshops.
Several international volunteer group training courses are planned throughout the mission.
Tutor/tutor within the host structure + contact person within the partner organization in Germany (Aktion Sühnezeichen Friedensdienste) will support the volunteer in his mission.
