Assignment description : The main objective of the “ASF — France Committee” is to organize long-term civic services (12 months) for young German and French volunteers spread throughout France and Germany. His work promotes peace between peoples, a European conscience, but also the fight against racism and exclusion, the reduction of stereotypes, the support of volunteers with disabilities and citizen engagement. ASF is particularly interested in the impact of history in our current societies: in this sense, it organizes seminars around the themes of citizenship, history, memory as well as socio-political themes. ASF volunteers are involved in the following sectors: - working with people with disabilities - social work - organic farming - equal opportunities - helping the elderly - human rights - memorials and memory work.
Participate in actions to raise awareness about Memory and Peace in the context of the fight against all exclusions; mission to the Buchenwald Camp Memorial. Buchenwald is the witness of an era, a place of information/meeting/reflection/homage to those who were oppressed. Willingness to be accessible to all so that the Second World War and the Holocaust never fall into oblivion. Mission integrated into this project to animate and enhance the site.
Possible missions, under the responsibility of the tutor: welcoming groups, preparing and implementing guided tours, preparing and implementing guided tours, educational programs, working in the archives, welcoming families of victims/survivors, support on site, intergenerational debate, supporting researchers and historians in their research, supporting researchers and historians in their research, supporting researchers and historians in their research, organization and implementation of events, organization and implementation of events, raising awareness of the European idea, press review, public relations, awareness-raising campaigns, the fight against all exclusions, for peace/reconciliation/awareness of the weight of history.
Several international group training courses planned throughout the mission. Tutor/tutor within the host structure + contact person within the partner organization in Germany (Aktion Sühnezeichen Friedensdienste) will support the volunteer.
